Mariana Mastracchio

I’m a Charlotte Mason homeschooling mom who loves to chat about bringing the Gospel to the home through Miss Mason’s philosophy and methods! And I get to do that at Charlotte Mason for All podcast and at the Brazilian podcast Descobrindo Charlotte Mason. I also love to help and encourage moms to grow in their spiritual disciplines at Life-giving Motherhood.

Mariana no longer contributes to Stories of Color’s books of the month recommendations, but we honor and acknowledge her many past contributions.

Why I care about diversity

I was born and raised in Southern Brazil and, since I was a little girl, I dreamed about traveling all over the world to meet other people and cultures and celebrate the beautiful world created by God. I even had a map behind my bedroom door where I would spend hours planning many imaginary trips!

I now live in the USA and I’m married to a first-generation Italian. Together we are raising bilingual kids that we hope will pick up a third language as they grow. 😀

Sharing our heritage with our sons is important for my husband and me. We do that through traditions, food, storytelling and reading many living books. Although I haven’t traveled all over the world yet, I’ve been blessed to live my childhood dreams through the rich and diverse books I get to read with my sons.
