I’m a Charlotte Mason homeschooling mama, artist, speaker, Children’s Ministry Director, and Founder of Life-giving Motherhood — a membership for like-minded moms cultivating our own habits to become “Ten Mina Servants.”
Min no longer contributes to Stories of Color’s books of the month recommendations, but we honor and acknowledge her many past contributions.
Why I care about diversity
Back in the day when “church” included the healing balm of hearing your own language spoken and finding that rare treasure called “kimchi,” my parents arrived with starry-eyed dreams, $100 in their pocket, and a 7-month gestation baby girl in the belly. As a child, I have experienced firsthand both the beauty of multicultural diversity in the security of abundance, and the horror of it when in lack.
Then, as an adult, I have enjoyed the honor of spending over a decade living overseas among precious people from over 60 nations at one time.
Now, as a mom and educator with soul-deep gratitude for the Story God is unraveling, I recognize the part He is calling me to play for our children’s generation: continuing to paint visions in their minds of His exquisite Church —His Bride — in all her glorious colors, cultures, and tongue.
The paint and the brushes are the words and living ideas found in story. Let’s get to work together.
