Stories of Color vs. Diverse BookFinder
Diverse BookFinder is a wonderful tool for finding multicultural picture books
There are a growing number of resources available to parents and teachers on the hunt for diverse, multicultural books. When it comes to picture books in particular, Diverse BookFinder serves as a wonderful tool. This is why we suggest it as one of our resources for homeschoolers who care about diversity.
However, as much as we appreciate Diverse BookFinder and applaud their efforts, it didn’t meet our goal of finding diverse “living” books for children of all ages. It wasn’t designed with homeschoolers in mind, either. In fact, we couldn’t find the resource we wanted anywhere. That’s why we went out to scratch our own itch—and that’s exactly what you’ve stumbled upon here.
Stories of Color is a community-cultivated, lovingly curated book source for Charlotte Mason homeschoolers on the pursuit to bring more diverse, multicultural ideas and perspectives to life for their children. This stretches beyond picture books, offering you a way to discover diverse, multicultural books for children of all education levels and heritages.
Keep reading to learn how we offer you a unique, diverse book finder for stories beyond those published for young children—or better yet, explore all our book lists. Happy exploring.
